Dear Sydney FC Members & fans,
For 20 years Sydney FC has been the most successful football club in Australia. We have set the standard on and off the pitch and as we approach our 20th season in the A-League, I am certain this year will be no different.
It is going to be one of the most exciting campaigns in our great club’s history.
We’ve built two very strong teams with a fantastic balance between youth and experience, and I am delighted we have been able to add marquees of the class of Douglas Costa and Kyah Simon to our squads.
In our 20th year it would be great to get as many new and returning Sydney FC Members on board as we can and break more records. You are the lifeblood of our club and we are endlessly grateful to every single one of you who bleeds Sky Blue.
From our Tunnel Club and Platinum Plus Members to our incredible supporters in The Cove, you are the best and most creative fanbase in the country. Your singing and chanting are incomparable in the A-League and you continue to be our 12th man.
This year I’ve a feeling it’s going to be the best yet, so if you haven’t signed up please make sure you do as soon as possible.
Another exciting opportunity comes with our participation in a revamped AFC Champions League. Strategically and commercially, this is a massive chance for us to build our reputation outside of the domestic market, the way the world’s great football clubs do.
Our ambition has always been to grow our brand and reputation regionally and to be known as one of the biggest clubs in Asia. This season marks a new, exciting era for Asian club football with increased prize pools bringing a massive benefit commercially.
Beyond the A-League, competition success in Asia is a huge priority for the club. We’ve had a great start to the competition and we need your support.
Our next home game on Thursday 7th November is an opportunity to test ourselves versus strong Japanese opposition, Hiroshima Sanfrecce, currently sitting atop of the J-League. Following this we play Kaya Iloilo FC from the Philippines on Thursday 5th December. It would be fantastic to paint Jubilee Stadium Sky Blue in both games.
We also intend to continue the momentum we have begun in our Women’s game over the past year. Sydney FC’s Memberships and crowds have broken records and set the standard. The atmospheres at Leichhardt Oval led to an incredible season and a record 5th Championship.
Let us continue to grow our Women’s game and get behind our girls to go back to back to back this season!
There is so much to look forward to this season but we need the support of Sky Blue fans right across our great city. We promise to bring the exciting, entertaining, high-intensity football that is central to our DNA, starting tonight in our away clash versus Kaya Iloilo FC in Manila.
My ask of you is bring your PASSION, bring your ENERGY and bring your NOISE! Together, let us make season 20 our best ever and show Australia and Asia who we are… We Are Sydney.
