Cortnee Vine scored the winner in a grand final re-match on Sunday afternoon and is ready to back it up on Wednesday night when the Mariners come to town.
The Matildas star has seen and experienced a lot in the last year but she believes that what the crowd adds at Leichhardt Oval is something special.
“I’ve played at grounds that are circular but with this ground being so intimate and overbearing, you hear everyone.
“It’s so loud and they encourage everyone and it is just so good to see all the young kids and families on the hill,” she said.
We absolutely love it here, it’s fantastic.
Having sat in the stand for the last fortnight and missing the reverse fixture with the Mariners in Gosford, Vine made her return on Sunday.
Finding her way back to fitness, she is wary that the Mariners pose a threat despite being the competition newcomers.
“Central Coast are new to the league and are a good side as they are trying to prove a point [that they deserve to be there].
“In the reverse fixture, we drew with them which is not like us as you know we love to win, so Wednesday will be a challenge for us,” Vine added.
Lastly, the winger urged as many people as possible to come down and experience the family friendly atmosphere that Leichhardt provides this Wednesday.
“I recommend families coming down as the kids absolutely love it here.
“They love sitting on the hill and getting to actually engage with us post game as we are very interactive and we want to encourage the next generation to be like us and play in the A-League.
“We want more people to come and cheer us on. They are our 12th player. The more we get, the better we perform,” she concluded.
Catch Cortnee in action this Wednesday at Leichhardt Oval.
