Making up more than 25{98698ff7ed92b99d4e0cecdfdc9e4dccf4922e0a04ff9db373daf4aa83b73fe2} of the squad, six Sky Blues have been named in the Young Matildas side that will be competing at the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup.
Maddie Caspers, Indiana Dos Santos, Jynaya Dos Santos, Tahlia Franco, Shay Hollman and Zara Kruger make up the Sydney FC contingent that will be competing for Asian Cup glory with the Australians.
Our six AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup stars
This year’s AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup will be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and will see the Australians play in Group A alongside Korea Republic, Uzbekistan and Chinese Taipai. A finish in the top two of the group will see the Australians progress to the knock-out stages of the tournament alongside qualification for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup 2024, held from the 31st of August to 22nd September 2024.
The Young Matildas will gather for a pre-camp from 19 – 28 February which will take place in Sydney and then Dubai, before the team arrives in Tashkent on 1 March for the tournament.
AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup Uzbekistan 2024 group action will take place from 3 – 9 March 2023, with the semi-finals scheduled for 13 March and the third-place match and Final to take place on 16 March 2024.

The six Sydney FC stars will miss three Liberty A-League matches and their final game before departing will be against Canberra United at McKellar Park. They will be absent for the Sydney Derby, top of the table clash with Western United and trip to New Zealand against Wellington Phoenix.
