Cortnee Vine has scored her second goal in three games after returning from injury as Sydney FC and Brisbane Roar played out a hard fought 1-1 draw at Leichhardt Oval.
Roar took the lead early but Vine was on hand to level in front of a fantastic crowd of 3,141.

BRODIGAN GOAL –11’ – Sydney FC gives the ball away to Freier who drives into the Sydney FC half before feeding Brodigan to shoot from range into the corner.
VINE GOAL – 42’ – Fenton does brilliantly on the left to beat Kirkup and plays a fantastic ball across the six yard box, taking out the Roar defence, for Cortnee Vine to poke home.
VINE SHOT OVER – 58’ – Vine gets away from her defender and into the box down the left side but fires just over the bar.
CRITICAL MCLEAN INTERCEPTION – 61’ – Brisbane find themselves with a player over but McLean is in with a huge tackle as Yallop was about to shoot.
ROAR GOAL DISALLOWED – 78’ – Davies collides with Whyman who had caught the ball and knocks it out of her hands to bundle it home but it’s correctly ruled a foul.
What They Said: Sydney FC Head Coach, Ante Juric: “It’s disappointing to draw at home in front of a real good crowd who probably deserved a little bit more from us.
“Brisbane Roar played really well today and the point was probably fair.
“Cortnee created a lot of chances today and we need to execute those chances she creates, and maybe with her finishing touch but I guess she’s a little bit rusty after coming back from injury.”
Defender Kirsty Fenton: “We came out in the second half looking to win 2-1 and we put in a good shift towards the end of the half.
“It’s pretty disappointing to get a draw but we are looking forward to trying to get back to the top of the ladder.
“We’ve still got games in hand so we need to get three points from them.”
Match Report: Sydney FC have secured a well-earned point against a battling Brisbane Roar.
Against the run of play Brisbane struck in the 11th minute after the Sky Blues gave the ball away and Brodigan shot from the edge of the box into the corner.
Sydney FC were level just before half time when Fenton did well to find Vine inside the six yard box to slot home.
Clear chances were few and far between but Matildas star Cortnee Vine was always a threat on the right wing.
The Roar did have a goal correctly disallowed and the Sky Blues had a goal mouth scramble towards the end of the game which they couldn’t take advantage of.
Sydney FC meet Wellington Phoenix next Friday night at Allianz Stadium.
