Robert Mak has aided his country, Slovakia, to securing a place at Europe’s top table. The European Championships will take place at the conclusion of this season and Slovakia have made their way through the year long qualifying campaign to lock in their spot.
This morning, with qualification already secured thanks to a 4-2 victory over Iceland on Friday morning, Slovakia needn’t have worried against Bosnia & Herzegovina but they still managed to get the job done.
Mak played 75 minutes for his country once more in this mornings 2-1 win and finishes the qualifying campaign with seven appearances and two goals which came against Liechtenstein and Bosnia & Herzegovina in the reverse fixture in March.
This international window is the last window until March and the Sydney FC winger will be happy to focus on his club football instead of flying back and forth between Europe every month which he has done for the last three.
If selected in the Slovakian squad for the tournament, he will become the first active Isuzu UTE A-League player to play at the UEFA European Championships.
Mak will now fly back to Australia and commence training with his team on Wednesday ahead of Saturday’s Sydney Derby at Allianz Stadium.
