Sydney FC Secure Alex Parsons Deal

Sydney FC have completed the signing of right winger Alex Parsons on a two-year contract.

The 22-year-old has been a shining light for Brisbane Roar over the past two seasons and is widely regarded as one of the most exciting young attacking prospects in Australia.

Parsons will fill the void left by the transfer of forward Elvis Kamsoba to Sepahan SC and has already begun training with the Sky Blues.

“I’m extremely excited to be signing for Sydney FC,” said the Ipswich born youngster.

“This is a massive club, with some great players and I believe I can take my career to the next level.

“Everyone has been extremely welcoming to me and it’s been fantastic to have experienced the family culture this club is famed for.

“Already I can tell there is a real hunger amongst the squad to win trophies this season.”

Head Coach Steve Corica believes Parsons will provide Sky Blues Members with plenty of entertainment.

“Alex is the type of player who will get our Members off their seats,” he said.

“He is attack minded, he likes to go past defenders and get balls into the box, and he will give us more options in the final third.

“Every time he has played against us he has caused us problems and I’m delighted we’ve been able to secure his signature.”

Parsons has made 12 starts from a total of 28 Isuzu-UTE A-League appearances and scored five goals with three assists.
