Robert Mak joined Sydney FC at the start of the 2022/23 season and made his debut in the Australia Cup against Oakleigh Cannons. Since then, he went to have a break-out season for the Sky Blues, walking away with the Sydney FC Men’s Player of the Year award. His most famous goal came in the Elimination Final at CommBank Stadium where he scored the first goal in a 2-1 come from behind victory. Mak was part of the squad that lifted the 2023 Australia Cup at Allianz Stadium, scoring in the Final in a 3-1 win over Brisbane Roar.
