Mackenzie Hawkesby

15 Midfielder
biography-icon Biography

Mackenzie Hawkesby grew up in the Wollongong region and struggled to break into A-League football until she was given a chance by Ante Juric at Sydney FC during the 2019/20 season. Since then she has been an instrumental piece of the Sydney FC puzzle and was rewarded with a call up to the Matildas, however she is still waiting for her first cap. After a brilliant 2022/23 season, Hawkesby made the move to the WSL with Brighton and Hove Albion but fell out of favour and made a return to the Sky Blues mid-season. Her arrival transformed the team and she led them onto victory in the 2024 Grand Final, winning the player of the match in the process.
