Hayden Matthews

The young central defender first joined the club in our Sydney FC academy when he was just 12 years old. In the 2023/24 A-League season, Mathews signed his first professional contract after his debut 4-0 win over Newcastle Jets. He became a mainstay in the backline for the remainder of that season. At 195 centimetres, Matthews is the tallest member of the Sky Blues Isuzu-UTE A-League squad. He is a lifelong supporter of Sydney FC.
