Illawarra Sports High School is the High Performance Centre for the development of aspiring young footballers in the Illawarra region. The school is the only designated specialist Sports High School south of Sydney and offers a broadly based comprehensive curriculum from Years 7 – 12.

The Sydney FC program at Illawarra SHS is also delivered in partnership with Football South Coast and fully integrated into the school timetable with students participating in three sessions per week. A fulltime Sydney FC coach is embedded in the school and is supported by a Director of Sport, Director of Football, qualified teachers and part-time staff from Football South Coast who assist in the delivery of training sessions.
The program aims to help develop young players of all levels. Elite and Development tiers are in place providing all players access to a holistic approach to athlete and player development.
The School develops a team culture, growth mindset and SMART goals with each player.
