As the Sydney FC players recharge their batteries for what is expected to be an incredibly tough pre season, we speak with the Young Guns who emerged as future mainstays of the Sky Blues outfit for 2013/14 and beyond. This week we speak to 2009/10 Championship winning defender Sebastian Ryall.

Sebastian Ryall joined Sydney FC at the start of the 2009/10 and played an integral part in helping the Sky Blues claim the Premiership/Championship double.

He holds the record of becoming the first player to win two A-League Championship/Premiership doubles with two different clubs after also claiming the double in 2007/08 with Melbourne Victory. Born and bred in Sydney, Ryall has now played 87 A-League games for Sydney FC, making him the second longest serving player behind Terry McFlynn.

Before heading off on holidays, Ryall answered five key questions.

What was your highlight for the 2012/13 season?
The highlight was the first game against West Sydney, the Derby out at Parramatta Stadium. It was such a good atmosphere and I think for the fans it was a massive game and to et a win against them was special.

Is there a lowlight?
Not making the semis hurt a lot of the players. We did put in the hard yards to do our best but we didn-t make it so we have to move on.

What was your personal highlight for the season?
I think from last year to this year I-ve come a long way in my game. The minutes I played compared to last year was a big highlight for me.

What are you looking forward, or nor looking forward to about pre season?
The running, all the players dread the running and that won-t be fun.

Which team mate stood out for you in 2012/13?
I-ve got to say Del Piero. He was outstanding. To play with a player like that was something that everyone wants to do.

Thank you Sebastian!!
