Whyman Called Into Matildas Squad

Sydney FC goalkeeper Jada Whyman has been called into the Matildas squad for their upcoming friendlies against Canada.

Whyman heads out to North America today where she will be part of the squad who face two games against the current Olympic Champions.

Whyman’s call up will see her replace keeper Mackenzie Arnold who injured her arm at West Ham’s training when she was preparing to face off against Arsenal.

Jada Whyman has been in great form so far this season to earn a Matildas call up

Whyman has been in good form between the Sky Blues posts and has pulled off magnificent saves in games during the AFC Women’s Club Championship and at the start of the Liberty A-League season.

Head Coach Tony Gustavsson recently called up a 23-player squad for the double header but due to a growing number of injuries has had to replace some other key players.

Former Sydney FC forward Remy Siemsen will also represent Australia in the encounter against Canada replacing Holly McNamara from Melbourne City who sustained a third ACL tear in the Liberty A-League earlier this month.

Midfielder Alex Chidiac will also replace Charli Grant who has a hamstring injury.
