In our ‘Where Are They Now’ series we’ll be taking a look back at some of our past players and hearing from them as they provide an update on what they’re up to these days.

This week, we heard from former Sky Blue Westfield W-League Championship winner Savannah McCaskill, as she hosted a live Facebook chat on Tuesday night.

McCaskill joined the Sky Blues on the eve of the 2018/19 season commencing, and immediately shone in Round 1 against the Western Sydney Wanderers with some impressive forward play.

The American scored her first goal for the Sky Blues against Adelaide United in December, and would prove an influential figure during her time in the Harbour City, helping guide the club to another Westfield W-League Grand Final.

McCaskill scored twice and laid on an assist in the Sky Blues’ Grand Final triumph, earning Player of the Match honours in the process, as she capped her time at Sydney FC with a Championship winners medal.

Now back in the United States, McCaskill is a current squad member of NWSL side Chicago Red Stars.

Hear from Savannah McCaskill:

“I’m in Chicago getting read for a Challenge Cup tournament in the NWSL.

“We’ll have a group stage and then a Quarter Final, Semi and Grand Final and that’ll be the season for 2020 which is crazy. These are the times we live in now.”
