We Need Our Twelfth Man Says Bojic

Sydney FC can equal a club record unbeaten streak on Thursday night against Perth Glory as Sky Blues defender Pedj Bojic said he wants to turn Allianz Stadium into a fortress.

The Sky Blues take on the first placed Perth Glory, with top spot on offer, and Bojic has called for as many fans as possible to turn out and support Sydney FC as they vie for pole position and look to equal their club record of nine matches undefeated.

“We’re feeling good and confident and we’re heading into the game undefeated which is great,” Bojic said.

“Heading into a home game it’s always great and we want to turn that into a fortress. Thursday night is a big game and we want to get all our fans down there supporting us. We’ve shown in our 8 games consistency and we need that 12th man there.

“It’s only round 8 so we have to continue to win our home games, it’s a massive game, it’s top of the table. We need everyone there supporting us and make sure Perth go home with nothing.

“We’ve got the chance to go top of the table against Perth this Thursday and that’s our aim.”

Bojic highlighted the Glory’s front man, Republic of Ireland international Andy Keogh as a threat, but the Sky Blues defender has faith in the defensive structure that Head Coach Graham Arnold has in place as he said to attack you must first defend.

“It’s what we’ve been working on from day one our defensive structure,” he said.

“That’s Arnie’s philosophy and we’ve done it day in day out. First thing is defence and then we go into attack. We make sure we do that right before we can go forward and start to play great football.

“He’s [Keogh] going to be a key threat,” Bojic continued.

“He’s scored some important goals for them and there’s a few other players [that are threats] as well, but we have to make sure we do our job properly first, go forward and create as many chances as we can.”
