Away from the men-s game Sydney FC have a prosperous women-s squad competing in the Westfield W-League and with them a special group of W-League Members.
With the Sky Blues Ladies being two time Champions and Premiers the W-League Members have plenty to cheer about as they travel all across Sydney and NSW to watch the girls play at their variety of home grounds, including WIN Jubilee Stadium, Kogarah and Sydney United Sports Centre at Edensor Park.
It was a fantastic season this year for the Sky Blue Ladies and with 53 dedicated W-League Members making the base of each crowd at each venue, the girls always had a strong backing.
This season Sydney FC Women finished runners up in the regular season before being knocked out in the semi-finals by Melbourne Victory.
The girls also represented Sydney FC on the world stage at the mobcast International Women-s Club Championship in Japan where they came up against English giants Chelsea FC, eventually finishing third in the world.
W-League Member Kristy Beck said she enjoys the entertaining displays the girls produce and rated the Sky Blue Ladies semi-final appearance against Melbourne Victory as her favourite moment from this season just passed.
“I had been to a few W-League matches over the past few years and I decided that this year, the best way to support the girls was by getting a membership,” Kristy said.
“I’ve always been Sky Blue and just enjoy being able to support women in football. They are a very entertaining and talented team.
“Even though they didn’t make the final, they did the club proud especially with their schedule. They also represented the club and country so well in their trip to Japan.
“It’s great to be part of such a great community. It is a family.”
