Last night, Cortnee Vine got some more valuable minutes under her belt with the Matildas against World Number Five, France.
Held at Marvel Stadium in front of a record crowd, the Sydney FC winger started for Tony Gustavsson’s side and was deployed on the left hand side compared to her usual right under Ante Juric.
First half opportunities were limited for both sides and Cortnee made way at the interval as the Matildas looked to experiment with different combinations before their FIFA Women’s World Cup campaign gets underway on Thursday evening at Stadium Australia against the Republic of Ireland.
Overall, Vine can be very happy with the position she currently sees herself and she will be hoping that she makes her World Cup debut in front of 80,000 people next week.
