Sydney FC’s hotly anticipated derby clash with Sydney United 58 FC in the Westfield FFA Cup round of 16 now has a confirmed venue after the FFA announced it had received sufficient lighting certificates for the match to be broadcast.
The tantalising Sydney Derby showdown for Sydney FC’s Westfield FFA Cup round of 16 clash will go ahead at Sydney United’s home ground, Sydney United Sports Centre at Endensor Park with the Sky Blues set to face a Sydney United 58 FC side coached by Sky Blues legend Mark Rudan, as they aim to be the first ever Westfield FFA Cup winners.
The venue was confirmed after lighting certificates of satisfactory levels were received after the FFA was awaiting confirmation from the official lighting certificates before announcing the venues due to considerations of player welfare and ensuring suitability for TV broadcast.
It will be a stern test for Graham Arnold’s squad as the Championship winning Head Coach will face off against a Sydney United team that finished ninth in the IGA NSW NPL Men’s 1 competition but will be chomping at the bit to face their cross town Hyundai A-League rivals.
