Tratt Taking Nothing For Granted

Sydney FC Foxtel National Youth League skipper Jacob Tratt is taking nothing for granted despite his team-s early season form.

The defender, who was lucky enough to be part of Sydney FC-s pre-season tour to Italy, believes the squad still have plenty to work on.

“It-s going very well and we-ve had an amazing start but we-re still conceding a few too many goals I think,” he said.

“We-ve conceded 11 in the last five games, so hopefully we can turn it around and the team can work on some defensive patterns collectively.

“Generally the boys are playing some good football though.”

The young Sky Blues face the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) at Cromer Park next Saturday (Dec 21) and Tratt is hoping their experience on the synthetic pitch, having played there already, can be an advantage.

“You have to adjust to playing on the pitch at Cromer, it-s a lot different to playing on grass and the ball holds up a bit more,” he said.

“We went down there a day before we beat Melbourne Victory 3-2 to get used to it.

“The AIS are travelling pretty well but hopefully we can get the win.”

Entry is free to the game this Saturday and starts at 2pm.
