Australian U23s lift MSIG Serenity Cup

The Australian U23’s have lifted the MSIG Serenity Cup with a 1-0 victory over Myanmar in the Final on Tuesday night.

Tori Tumeth captained the side for the showpiece match and the Australians were looking for redemption after Myanmar defeated them 2-1 in the opening match of the tournament.

It was a second half goal from Holly Furphy that sealed the victory with Tumeth playing centre back for the Australians. Abbey Lemon entered the match as a second half substitute and both girls played key roles across the two weeks.

In other news, Claire Corbett & Willa Pearson have departed Australia with the Junior Matildas as they head to Indonesia for the ASEAN U16 Girls Championship.
