Three must win games remain – Steve Corica

After picking up a point at Coopers Stadium, a notoriously tough place to go to, Steve Corica knows that the remaining three matches are must win if Sydney have any hope of playing finals football.

Sydney FC managed to keep a free-scoring Adelaide United quiet in front of goal and had enough chances to come away with all three points away from home.

Now with three games remaining, the focus remains on the task at hand and that begins on Sunday afternoon when they host Perth Glory.

“We play three teams below us so we need to make sure that we beat those three teams.

“It’s as simple as that,” Corica said.

As the seasons nears it’s conclusion, Sydney FC sit in sixth spot and know that in finals football, anything is possible.

“We just need to go on a bit of a run and we have the quality to do that,” he said.

On Friday night, Adam Le Fondre came off the bench to score his first goal since returning from injury and Corica was pleased with his performance.

“That’s what he can do, he’s dangerous up front.

“We’ve got to try and get him back into the team as we’ve had him off the bench the last couple of games,” Corica added.

“He can score goals and we need to make sure we play the right balls for him and others stand up and take responsibility too.”

Steve Corica’s men will be back in action on Sunday afternoon at Allianz Stadium when they take on Perth Glory in a must win match.
