“They deserve more than what they get” – Juric

Ante Juric was delighted with his side’s mentality in a dominant and ruthless demolition of rivals Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park on Thursday afternoon.

His side raced out to a 3-0 lead within 35 minutes and added more second half misery to Victory with the match finishing 6-3 to the Sky Blues.

“I’m happy,” Juric said.

“After scoring six goals, I can’t say that I am not, and going forward we created a lot of chances and had a lot of intent which was great.

“Last week, I don’t think any of us were there, but this week was a different story. This week, they showed us who they were and what they are about, they were excellent.”

After being left out of the A-League Team of the Big Blue, Juric was quick to defend Ibini and her team-mates.

“I’d have her in the Team of the Year, Team of the Month, Team of the Week, every single day.

“I used that as motivation today, and I think you can see that they used that too.”

The coach of six years was quick to praise the efforts of his whole team, with Princess Ibini netting a hat-trick, a first of her career and only the 8th Sydney FC Women’s player to do so.

“Prinny works for us. She takes players on and gives us so much out wide which people often don’t see,” Juric said.

Overall, the Sydney FC Head Coach was so pleased with the effort that his side put in against a team that has pushed them so much in recent times.

“I love these girls so much and they deserve more than they get because they have been in and around the top for so long.

“Seriously, who does that, it doesn’t even happen in the men,” Juric added.

The girls were dominant from the start

“When I see that and I see them react like that, I love that.”

Sydney FC have enjoyed a dominant period in the Women’s game in recent time and Ante Juric was quick to draw upon the credit that his side deserve.

“The girls deserve more attention for what they are doing because what they are doing is so rare.”
