Today we’re looking at the solid stats of Westfield W-League defender Ellie Brush.
New to the Sky Blues for the 2019/20 season, and playing in her last Westfield W-League season before retirement, Brush proved one of Sydney FC’s mainstays with a number of impressive performances at the heart of the club’s backline.
In defence, Brush made 47 clearances, nine blocks and 32 interceptions, while also winning 72.7% of her tackles, displaying all the poise and composure of a seasoned Westfield W-League star.
Getting between the lines going forward, Brush finished the season with a 75.8% passing accuracy, while also playing seven key passes, splitting opposition defences..
One of the more diminutive players on the pitch, Brush even managed to find the back of the net with a headed goal at Cromer Park, with the central defender a constant threat off Sky Blue set pieces, and unlucky not to score more.
