Sydney FC today confirms that Ninja A-League Women’s Head Coach Ante Juric will depart the club following eight and a half seasons in charge of the Sky Blues women’s squad.
Juric leaves Sydney FC as the most successful coach in the club’s history, having guided the team to six major trophies during his tenure, including three Championships and three Premierships.
Under his leadership, Sydney FC also achieved an extraordinary run of seven consecutive Grand Final appearances between 2018 and 2024, establishing the club as the benchmark of the competition for an extended period.
Beyond the silverware, Juric has played a pivotal role in the development of some of Australia’s most accomplished footballers, helping nurture the careers of players who have gone on to represent the Matildas and succeed overseas, including Cortnee Vine, Clare Wheeler, Jada Whyman, Remy Siemsen and Charlotte McLean.
The club remains immensely grateful for Juric’s contribution and legacy, and Ante leaves the club with a strong platform to continue on the success he began.

Sydney FC Executive Vice Chairman Sebastian Gray said: “Ante will forever be remembered as one of the most important figures in Sydney FC’s history.
“On behalf of the board, we want to sincerely thank him for everything he has given to this club over eight and a half seasons, including an incredible run of success that delivered six major trophies and seven straight Grand Finals.”
Sydney FC can also confirm that Academy Technical Lead and NPL Assistant Coach James Slaveski has been appointed as Interim Ninja A-League Women’s Head Coach for the remainder of the season.
Slaveski has been a key figure within Sydney FC’s Academy and women’s pathway programs, working closely with emerging talent while also playing an integral role in the club’s NPL set-up.

Gray said the club was excited to promote from within and back a coach identified as having strong potential.
“We are delighted to elevate James from his current role and give him this opportunity,” Gray said.
“The board has been impressed by James’ work within our Academy and NPL programs, where he has demonstrated some outstanding coaching and leadership characteristics.
“We are excited to see James step into this role and lead the group for the remainder of the season.”

Slaveski will commence his role immediately and will take charge of the Ninja A-League Women’s squad training tonight and the club’s clash with Brisbane Roar at Leichhardt Oval on Wednesday night (7.30pm kick off).
