Sydney FC’s Liberty A-League match against Brisbane Roar at Leichhardt Oval next week has been brought forward 24 hours to avoid a clash with the Matildas’ AFC Asian Cup 2022 Semi Final.
The game will now kick off at 7.35pm on Wednesday 2nd February, 2022.
Originally the fixture was scheduled for Thursday night, however it’s highly likely Australia’s National Women’s team will play a semi final in the AFC Asian Cup at that time in India.
“We understand how important both games are to our Sydney FC Women’s Members and supporters and we want to be able to give them the best chance to be able to watch them both,” said Sydney FC Chief Executive Officer Danny Townsend.
“We also want as many eyes watching both crucial games as possible so it makes sense to bring our game forward 24 hours to allow people to do that and avoid a clash.”
