Sydney FC Win Rhys Youlley Appeal

Sydney FC midfielder Rhys Youlley has had his three match suspension following his red card against Wellington Phoenix reduced to two matches on appeal.

The 20-year old referred the decision to award him three games to the Football Australia Independent Disciplinary and Ethics Committee for hearing.

Following submissions by Football Australia and Sydney FC at the hearing, the Committee determined that Youlley had committed the offence of “Serious foul play (e.g. when challenging for the ball)” but reduced the suspension by one match from three to two matches.

As Youlley has already served two matches against Melbourne Victory and Western Sydney Wanderers, he will be available for Sydney FC’s Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s match against Auckland FC this Saturday.
