Sydney FC will take on the Newcastle Jets at Allianz Stadium on Sunday in a one-off shoot out for a place in the Hyundai A-League finals in Vitezslav Lavicka-s last match in charge of the Sky Blues at home.
One game. One Chance. A farewell to a Double-winning Coach. One great occasion!
The Sky Blues faithful will flood Allianz Stadium as, not for the first time, Sydney FC face a final day fight at home, this time the prize is a place in the finals and the opponent is NSW rivals Newcastle Jets.
Two years ago more than 25,000 fans descended on the Sydney Football Stadium as the Sky Blues faced Melbourne Victory on the last day of the season and on the back of a month of strong performance and results there-s no doubt another huge last day crowd will greet the Sky Blues players on Sunday.
The match will also see Lavicka in charge of the Sky Blues for the final time at Allianz Stadium with the prospect of Sydney FC playing a home final incredibly thin.
Lavicka will be honoured by the Sky Blues players and fans before the match, which promises to be one of the biggest of the season.
