Sydney FC goes into the game without five first choice players but Crook is keen to test the Sky Blues- depth and monitor the progress of his side, in particular some of the younger players who have stepped up a gear in early pre season games.
Missing will be Pascal Bosschaart, Adam Griffiths, Joel Chianese and Yairo Yau while Alessandro Del Piero arrives in Sydney tomorrow morning to start his two year contract.
Brett Emerton will play a larger part after returning from ankle surgery with a 30 minute performance last weekend while Yau is being rested after returning from two World Cup Qualifiers for Panama last week.
Also returning to the Sydney FC team will be Terry Antonis, Daniel Petkovski and Hagi Gligor, who are back in the Sky Blues colours after representing Australia in an U19 tournament.
“This is going to be a good test for us,” Crook said. “Brisbane is a strong side. They have been the yard stick in the last two years and it will be good to see where we-re at.
“We still have three weeks until the season starts but it is fast approaching and although we have a few missing I-m expecting the younger guys to continue to step up because we are going to need our entire squad this season to be successful.”
