By now you will be aware of the federal government’s advice to suspend all gatherings of 500 people or more, and this morning’s statement from Football Federation Australia regarding the future of the Hyundai A-League 2019-20 season.
It means, as we stand, Sydney FC’s remaining home matches will be played behind closed doors, and this will be the case until we receive further notice.
In addition, Wednesday’s match against Wellington Phoenix will be rescheduled due to our opponents being required to undergo a 14-day period of self-isolation under the border restriction rules introduced by the Australian Government.
Clearly these are unprecedented times and the club is working through the ramifications of the current situation and their impacts on club Members and fans.
As a club and as a code we are facing many unknowns, and have many stakeholders to consult over the coming days to determine a path forward.
Now more than ever, we appreciate your patience and support and at this time we encourage you to bear with us as we continue to try to understand the consequences of what is a very changeable situation.
The club will be in contact over the coming days when we can provide more information.
