Sydney-s junior football players will have an extra incentive to perform in their local Grand Final this weekend with Sydney FC players attending 11 Local Association Grand Final days and Gala Days all over Sydney to present trophies to all participants.
18 Sydney FC players will attend Grand Final days in Hornsby, North Ryde, Kareela, Bossley Park, Burragong, Lane Cove, Dee Why, Merrylands, Blacktown, Ashfield and Putney.
The Grand Final day appearances come at the end of a solid two month blitz where Sydney FC players have attended junior football clubs every weekend since returning for Pre Season training at the beginning of July.
During that time the players have made 111 visits at 58 separate events, spending 215 hours in the local football community.
“Sydney FC is serious about reaching out to the Sydney football community and the junior participants are a very important part of our plans,” said Sydney FC CEO Dirk Melton. “The children are the future fans and Members as well as the future players so it is important they feel part of the club.
“The players have been fantastic over this period and we have received an enormous amount of positive feedback from the local clubs and Associations. Sydney FC would like to wish every player and team taking part in a Grand Final this weekend the best of luck.”
