Ufuk Talay will be without winger Joe Lolley for this Saturday’s Big Blue with the Head Coach confirmed the Englishman will undergo surgery today on an ankle ligament injury.
The Sydney FC number 10 is expected to be out for approximately 4-6 weeks but he is in line to return for the end of the campaign.
“It’s disappointing for Joe and the team as he’s a very influential player for us; but we’re hoping he’ll return at the back end of the season,” Talay said on the absence of Lolley
“It’s pleasing we’ve got good strength in depth in the squad and it’s a big chance for someone else to step up.”
Jordan Courtney-Perkins, Corey Hollman & Pat Wood are all included in the extended squad with these reinforcements giving Talay an option in defence, midfield and attack depending on how he wishes to structure his side.
Gus Hoefsloot remains out with a wrist injury but is progressing well and nearing a return to play.
