Sydney FC Signs Jake Hollman On Three Year Deal

Sydney FC has secured the signing of central midfielder Jake Hollman on a three-year contract, bringing the Academy graduate back to the Sky Blues where his professional football journey began.

The 24-year-old returns to Sydney after spending the past season in England with EFL League Two side Walsall, following a successful five-year spell with Macarthur FC where he established himself as one of the A-League’s best young midfielders.

Hollman was part of Sydney FC’s inaugural Academy intake and progressed through every level of the club’s pathway system, culminating in the National Youth League Grand Final triumph in 2020, scoring in a 5-1 triumph over Melbourne Victory.

He was also named the National Youth League Player of the Year in that season.

For the Bulls, Hollman made more than 100 appearances scoring 16 times with nine assists.

He also won two Australia Cups, represented Australia at Under-20 and Under-23 level, and was selected in the 2024 A-Leagues All Stars squad under Patrick Kisnorbo.

Hollman said the opportunity to return to Sydney FC was one he couldn’t pass up.

“Coming back to Sydney FC feels like coming home,” he said.

“This is the club where I developed as a player and as a person. I have so many great memories from my Academy years and winning the National Youth League Grand Final with a fantastic group of players.

“I’ve learned a lot over the past few years, both in the A-League and during my time in England, and I feel I’m returning a better player with a lot more experience.

“When I spoke with Patrick and Alex about the vision for the future, it was something I really wanted to be part of.

“Sydney FC has always been a club that expects success and that’s exactly the environment I want to be in. I can’t wait to pull on the Sky Blue jersey again and get started.”

Sydney FC Head Coach Patrick Kisnorbo said Hollman’s return was an exciting addition for the club.

“Jake is a player we know very well and someone who understands exactly what it means to represent Sydney FC.

“He has come through our Academy, experienced success in the A-League, tested himself overseas and is now returning as a more mature and complete footballer.

“He’s got excellent energy, quality on the ball and a tremendous work ethic.

“At 24, he is entering some of the best years of his career and we’re delighted to bring him home.”

Hollman will join the Sky Blues when at Sky Park in late June as the squad begins preparations for the 2026-27 campaign, including the Sydney Super Cup clash with Tottenham Hotspur and the Australia Cup 2026 campaign.
