Sydney FC today confirmed it would not be offering new contracts to six players as the Sky Blues continue to re-shape the squad for the 2013/14 season after missing out on qualifying for the finals series on goal difference.

Kruno Lovrek, Paul Reid, Nathan Sherlock, Trent McClenahan, Adam Griffiths and Jarrod Kyle have not been offered new contracts after figuring in Sydney FC-s 2012/13 season.

“It-s an unfortunate part of football but we have decided not to offer new contracts to six players from the 2012/13 squad,” said Sydney FC coach Frank Farina.

“We have started the process of re-shaping the squad for the 2013/14 season and we need to make some tough decisions to allow ourselves the opportunity to do that. We are excited about some of the options before us and we are confident we can put together a squad the fans can be proud of.

“On behalf of Sydney FC, I-d like to thank the players for their efforts and wish them the best of luck in the future.”

Contracted Sydney FC players for the 2013/14 season are: Ivan Necevski, Sebastian Ryall, Fabio Alves, Pascal Bosschaart, Brett Emerton, Alessandro Del Piero, Blake Powell, Mitch Mallia, Terry McFlynn, Joel Chianese, Terry Antonis, Vedran Janjetovic, Ali Abbas, Rhyan Grant, Daniel Petkovski, Hagi Gligor, Peter Triantis and Joel Griffiths.
