Sydney FC have re-signed Hyundai A-League 2014/15 Player of the Year Milos Dimitrijevic on a new two year deal the club announced today.

Dimitrijevic, who also won the Players’ Player of the Year and Members’ Player of the Year awards for season 2014/15, will remain a Sky Blues player for seasons 2015/16 and 2016/17, joining a formidable Sydney FC midfield unit.

The Serbian midfielder will look to add to his 37 Hyundai A-League appearances to date after joining the Sky Blues as an injury replacement player in January of season 2013/14, scoring two goals in 28 appearances in his most recent season as he propelled the Sky Blues towards a Hyundai A-League Grand Final appearance and Asian Champions League qualification.

Dimitrijevic said he was pleased to be linking up again with Head Coach Graham Arnold as he targeted building on the Sky Blues record breaking 2014/15 season this year.

“I’m really happy to be re-signing for Sydney FC,” he said.

“I thought long and hard during the off season about where I wanted to play my football and I am happy I have made the right decision.

“Working with Arnie again and competing in Asia were huge drawcards for staying.

“I can’t wait to see all of my team mates again and get back to working at a club like Sydney FC.”

Head Coach Graham Arnold said he was delighted to be able to retain the services of one of the finest midfielders in the Hyundai A-League.

“Milos is a quality player,” he said.

“His displays last season earned him the acclaim of his peers and fans and I believe he was one of the form players of the competition.

“To have Milos back strengthens our midfield immensely as we need a lot of quality and depth with a heavy program, a lot of players away for Olyroo duty and the Asian Champions League matches, plus A-League.””

Dimitrijevic will link up with his teammates in mid-August.

Sydney FC are in pre-season action against Macarthur Rams on Thursday night (kick off 7:30pm) at Campbelltown Sports Stadium. Tickets are available at the gate, with Adults priced at $10 and Children/Concessions at $5.
