Sydney FC full back Marc Warren says the Sky Blues are primed to take on the St. George Saints as they head to the WIN Jubilee Oval in Kogarah tomorrow night (kick off 7pm).
The club will play their first official pre-season game back on home soil, having returned from their three week training camp in Jesolo, Italy.
“It should be a big game, so there-ll hopefully be a couple of thousand people there,” said the 21 year old.
“Every game is important for us, and we-ll treat it like it-s a Grand Final and work as hard as we can.”
Sydney FC have implemented a new football philosophy under the guidance of Head Coach Frank Farina and Rado Vidosic, and Warren believes it will start to pay dividends soon.
“It does improve over time and we-ve worked a lot on it in Italy. We-ve also had our double sessions here, so it is starting to get close to perfection and if we can continue working on it, it will be even better.”
The former Young Socceroo, who is based in Menai, is also relishing the prospect of seeing the Sky Blues take to the field on his home turf.
“I-m from around there and we haven-t really had a game around there for a while,” he said.
“I-m sure all of the people in the St George area and the Shire will be very happy with Sydney FC coming down and playing there.”
“All my friends and family are going to turn up to watch and support the team and myself.”
