Sydney FC have moved their highly anticipated Westfield W-League Sydney derby to Sydney United Sports Centre, Edensor Park after WIN Jubilee Oval failed a pitch inspection on Wednesday.
With preparations and maintenance on the Jubilee pitch well underway for the upcoming 2015 AFC Asian Cup, the inclement weather of recent weeks has hampered work and left the pitch unsuitable for play.
A decision was made on Wednesday to move the match with player welfare at the forefront of the thought process.
Sydney FC have recent history at Sydney United Sports Centre with the Sky Blues most recently clinching a thrilling 3-1 Sydney Derby victory in the Westfield FFA Cup while the venue has also hosted Westfield W-League and Foxtel National Youth League matches in previous seasons.
Sydney FC’s Westfield W-League round seven clash against the Western Sydney Wanderers will be broadcast LIVE on ABC1 (kick off 3pm). Gates open at 1pm.
Bring your family and friends along for the Sydney Derby. Sydney FC Members receive free entry while Adults are priced at $10 and Kids & Concession $5.
