Sydney FC’s Hyundai A-League, Westfield W-League and Foxtel National Youth League games are set to go ahead as expected this weekend, Football Federation Australia (FFA) have announced today.
Current weather forecasts for tomorrow’s A-League match with Brisbane Roar (kick off 7:30pm AEDT) and Foxtel National Youth League match against Western Sydney Wanderers (kick off 4:45pm AEDT) at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium in Kogarah suggest air quality will not impact the welfare of the players and match officials, following concerns over bushfire smoke in the atmosphere.
The Sky Blues Westfield W-League match against Melbourne City on Sunday at Cromer Park in Manly (kick off 4pm AEDT) will also go-ahead and will not be affected.
Football Federation Australia will continue to monitor the situation however an easterly wind change forecast for tomorrow afternoon is expected to provide an Air Quality Index (AQI) reading at a satisfactory level for the matches to be played.
