Sydney FC Keeper Signs New Deal

Sydney FC goalkeeper Harrison Devenish-Meares has committed his future to the Sky Blues, signing a new contract that extends his current deal by an additional season.

The original two-year agreement, signed in June last year, has been bolstered to reflect the club’s faith in the 28-year-old shot-stopper.

Devenish-Meares has been in good form this season, featuring in six matches across the AFC Champions League and the Isuzu-UTE A-League.

Harrison Signs Contract Extension

He expressed his delight at securing an extended stay with Sydney FC.

“I’m thrilled to extend my contract with Sydney FC. This club feels like home, and I’m excited to be a part of its future for the next three years,” he said.

“I’ve gained great experience so far making my debut in the A-League and playing internationally in the AFC Champions League, and I’m keen to keep improving here.”

“I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together moving forward.”

Head Coach Ufuk Talay praised the goalkeeper’s performances this season and expressed high expectations for his development.

“Harrison has been outstanding for us so far this season. His performances have shown maturity, composure, and leadership in key moments,” Talay said.

Devenish-Meares making his debut earlier this season.

“In the AFC Champions League, he’s made some crucial saves that kept us in games, and in the A-League he has been very consistent.

“He’s a vital part of our squad, and I believe his best years are ahead of him.

“I’m excited to see him continue to grow and reach new heights over the next few seasons.”

Talay also highlighted Devenish-Meares’ commitment and professionalism as key attributes that make him a role model within the squad.

“Harrison brings a great attitude to training every day. He’s always looking to improve, and that’s exactly the mindset we want at this club,” Talay added.

“I’m confident he’ll play an even bigger role in our success in the years to come.”

Devenish-Meares’ joined the Sky Blues after spending seven years overseas playing in Florida and professionally in Romania.

His new deal will expire at the end of the Isuzu-UTE A-League 2026-27 season.
