Sydney FC have re-signed club goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne for a further two years, the club confirmed today.

A member of the Sky Blues’ record breaking 2016/17 double winning side, Redmayne has come to the fore in season 2017/18 to play every minute of every game and helping the club to concede the least number of goals in the competition so far (12).

The Sky Blues’ shotstopper has kept seven clean sheets this campaign, and another three shut outs in the squad’s 2017 Westfield FFA Cup triumph.

Redmayne said he was thrilled to be extending his stay with the reigning Hyundai A-League Champions.

“It’s so pleasing to be a part of a successful side and I’m glad to be remaining a Sky Blue,” Redmayne said.

“At Sydney FC I feel I’m playing some of my best football and I’m glad to be continuing to train under [Head Goalkeeper Coach] John Crawley who has developed me into the player I am.

“I can’t wait to help the club to more silverware this season and to get started in my third AFC Champions League campaign next month.”

Sydney FC Head Coach Graham Arnold said he was pleased to have his number one goalkeeper locked in for a further season.

“Andrew is a fantastic professional and has risen to every challenge set before him,” Arnold said.

“He has performed exceptionally well this season and is one of the reasons we’re on track for our first goal of 50 points, and the remaining targets beyond that.”

Sydney FC return to Hyundai A-League action away against Adelaide United at Coopers Stadium on Sunday 14 January (kick off 7pm AEDT). Catch the match live on Fox Sports 501 at The Star, Sydney FC’s Home Away From Home or follow @SydneyFC on Twitter for updates.
