Sydney FC’s match against Melbourne City on Sunday 17th March has been switched to Leichhardt Oval (7pm kick off).

The game, which was scheduled for Brookvale Oval, will now become the Sky Blues’ third Hyundai A-League match at the famous inner west venue,  following last weekend’s packed out game against Central Coast Mariners, and the visit of Adelaide United next Friday night.

Sky Blues Chief Executive Officer Danny Townsend explained: “Sunday’s game at Leichhardt Oval looked and felt amazing and I was delighted with the amount of support we received from our Members and fans.

“We’ve had some great backing from the area and I expect more of the same for our next two matches there.

“Obviously we are disappointed to have to move the game away from Brookvale but with only three weeks to go there is still work to do on the playing surface to bring it up to Hyundai A-League standard.

“We’d rather make a decision now to give our Members and stakeholders enough notice of the change, and will continue to work with Brookvale Oval and the Council to provide us with an option to host Hyundai A-League football at Brookvale next season.”

Sydney FC’s next home Hyundai A-League match is on Friday 1st March (7:50pm kick off) before attention turns to the AFC Champions League and the visit of Korean giants Ulsan Hyundai FC on Wednesday 6th March.

All of Sydney FC’s AFC Champions League 2019 group games will be played at Kogarah’s Jubilee Stadium.
