The Sydney FC Foundation is proud to announce its support for the Cerebral Palsy Alliance’s Steptember campaign in 2025 – Australia’s biggest workplace health and wellbeing challenge.
Throughout September, participants will aim to complete 10,000 steps a day, in any way they choose. More than 40 activities – from Pilates and cycling to dancing – can be converted into steps, making the challenge accessible for all fitness levels.
Steptember not only encourages better health and fitness, but also raises vital funds to support early detection and therapy for babies with cerebral palsy. Teams of up to four, or individual participants, can sign up, with team leaderboards adding a competitive edge to the month-long event.
Sydney FC staff will be taking part through the Sydney FC Foundation, with the club encouraging Members, fans, and the wider community to join in.

Sydney FC Foundation Programs and Partnerships Manager Jake Cohen said the initiative was a perfect fit for the club’s values.
“Steptember is a fantastic opportunity for us to combine physical activity with a cause that has real impact,” Cohen said.
“Through the Sydney FC Foundation, we are committed to supporting inclusion in football, and this campaign directly aligns with that mission. It’s not only about getting people moving but also raising vital funds for babies with cerebral palsy.
“We’re especially proud to have our Inclusive Programs Officer, Ben Sutton, leading by example and taking part in the challenge.”

Ben Sutton brings a wealth of experience to the Sydney FC Foundation’s inclusive football initiatives.
A former Pararoos player who represented Australia for seven years, Sutton has over a decade of coaching experience and holds a degree in sports coaching and exercise science.
He is currently the coach of the NSW Cerebral Palsy team, recently nominated for the 2024 NSW Champions of Sport ‘Team of the Year with a Disability’ award.
Sutton was also a player in the team before retiring in 2023.
