Sydney FC have secured a 3-0 win over the Olyroos in their final pre-season friendly before heading to Doha in Qatar to resume their AFC Champions League campaign on Saturday.

An early Paulo Retre strike got the Sky Blues underway following a Ninkovic pass, before Trent Buhagiar’s header from an inch perfect Rhyan Grant cross doubled the lead on the quarter hour.

Buhagiar turned provider three minutes later giving the ball to Alex Baumjohann to finish well inside the box.

The Olyroos mounted a comeback in the second half and had a number of chances as both sides used their substitutes.

However Tom Heward-Belle in the Sydney FC goal kept his young Australian colleagues at bay and the final scoreline remained at 3-0.
