Sydney FC have won a record fourth Premiers Plate after a tight game in Adelaide was settled by a solitary goal from star player Paige Satchell.

After the first five minutes when Whyman pulled off a remarkable save, the Sky Blues were the dominant force for the majority of the game.

Satchell, Ibini and Siemsen all came close to breaking the deadline before the Kiwi international picked up the ball and hit a rocket in the top corner.

The Sky Blues continued to push forward but had to withstand a little bit of pressure toward the end from the home side, however they hung on for the two points which ensured a second consecutive title.

For Natalie Tobin it is her first title as captain in her rookie year as skipper.

What They Said: Natalie Tobin: “I almost cried there, it’s just so exciting, we’ve had the best season and to be rewarded for it is incredible and I’m so, so proud of the girls.

“We’ve got a young team and we lost some really good players last season and I think we had that expectation to win because we did so well, so it’s really overwhelming.”
