Sydney FC Cup Hero Kucharski Extends Contract

Sydney FC’s last minute Australia Cup hero Jaiden Kucharski has extended his Sky Blues contract until the end of the Isuzu-UTE A-League 2024-25 season.

The Academy graduate, who scored a brilliant solo goal to equalize against Central Coast Mariners in the Round of 32, has signed for a further season.

The 21-year old has been part of the Sydney FC Academy since inception and was a Sky Blues Cove Member as a young boy.

“This means a lot to me,” he said. “When I was young, Dad was a big football fanatic and we went straight into The Cove.

“The Capos gave us some flags as young kids and really got us involved. It drove me to wanting to support the team.

“To get my first professional contract this year is great after 14 years of supporting the club and I’m very excited.”

Kucharski’s equalizer took the Australia Cup tie to a penalty shootout which Sydney FC won 10-9.

It secured passage to a Round of 16 meeting with APIA Leichhardt tomorrow night (7.30pm).

Head Coach Steve Corica believes the A-League will see the best of Kucharski this season.

“Jaiden was unfortunate with some injuries last year but we all saw what he is capable of doing in the cup match with Central Coast Mariners.

“He can play as a winger or as a central striker and he is the type of player you’d pay for a Membership to watch.

“I’m confident this year can be a breakout year for him if he works hard and continues to learn.”

Kucharski is included in Sydney FC’s squad for their clash with APIA Leichhardt at Leichhardt Oval tomorrow night.
