Sydney FC have confirmed their squad for the Foxtel National Youth League 2017/18 season, set to kick off in November.
The Young Sky Blues squad contains a wealth of talented players, with a number of the team boasting Young Socceroo and Hyundai A-League experience.
Stars Sam McIllhatton, Patrick Flottmann, Brendan Curtis, Liam McGing and 2016/17 NYL Player of the Year Andrea Agamemnonos all featured in Sydney FC’s first team against English Premier League giants Arsenal FC and will now enter this season more experienced than ever.
Cameron Devlin joins the Sky Blues from crosstown rivals Western Sydney Wanderers in search of more silverware, while six of the squad have made the progression from the Sky Blues U18’s and U20’s squads.
Head Coach Rob Stanton said he was excited by the squad at his disposal this season and is confident of backing up another successful season where players continue to develop and grow.
“We’ve got a young talented squad this year and I’m expecting more success,” Stanton said.
“The majority of the boys have been at this club for a couple of years now, they know what’s required to succeed in this competition and I’m looking forward to it all coming together on the park.
“It’s also pleasing to see a number of the boys make the leap up from the U18’s and U20’s squads, it shows there’s a real pathway at Sydney FC and shows the calibre our Academy possesses.”
