Sydney FC Complete Westfield W-League Squad

Sydney FC have completed their Westfield W-League 2020/21 squad with the signing of two-time Brisbane Roar Golden Boot winner Allira Toby and goalkeeper Katie Offer.

Striker Toby joins from Portuguese club Famalicao and will link up with the squad as soon as she completes her quarantine period next week, while Offer comes off a National Premier League NSW Women’s season with North West Sydney Koala’s FC.

Head Coach Ante Juric is happy to have finalised his squad.

“We managed to secure the majority of our squad nice and early which is always a bonus, and we’ve been training for a few weeks now,” he said.

“However to bring in the quality of Allira and Katie at this stage gives us that extra lift going into the season.

“It’s not long before our first game and we can really feel the excitement of another good year ahead.

“We have assembled a great group of girls who will no doubt continue the legacy of working hard for each other and working hard for the fans and club, which Sydney FC has built its success on of late.

“I am looking forward to seeing our girls play and to express themselves in Season 2020/21.”

NEWS: Taylor Ray Eyeing Starting Role

26-year old striker Toby has plenty of experience playing in the Westfield W-League, having had successful spells at Adelaide United and more recently Brisbane Roar.

“I’m excited to be joining Sydney FC,” she said.  “It’s a really good opportunity for me to play at a club who are very successful in both W-League and A-League competitions.

“We’ve a very young and talented squad this season so I’m excited to join that and I’m looking forward to the energy and excitement it will bring.

“Hopefully the Members can expect goals from me, I like to be an energetic striker, getting in behind the defence and making those runs off the back of defender’s shoulders.

“It’s a real goal to play finals football again and play in my first Grand Final, so I want to help the team achieve that, and for them to keep being successful.”

The Sky Blues opening game of the season is a Grand Final re-match double header against Melbourne City on Wednesday 30th December.
