Young Sydney FC star Terry Antonis says everyone at the club is fired up for the first game of the new season on Saturday night.
The Young Socceroo will travels to Wellington Phoenix for a repeat of the fixture which saw the Sky Blues knocked out of last season-s competition at the semi-final stage.
“Everyone will be firing up because everyone has been waiting for a long time for this first game so everyone should be ready,” said the 18 year old.
“I can-t wait, we-ve been preparing for 12 weeks in pre-season and finally it gets off this Saturday.”
The anticipation surrounding Sydney FC has been building for weeks and with thirteen new faces at senior level, many are predicting a good year for the club.
However Antonis is well aware they won-t get an easy ride in Welllington.
“They-re a physical so it-ll be very difficult over there, especially with the away crowd behind them,” he continued.
“They-ve got good ball movement so it-ll be a great game to watch and a great game to play in, but we-re gelling well and everyone is looking fit and sharp.”
