Sydney FC today announced changes to the composition of its Board of Directors that will see former Federal Sports Minister Mark Arbib and businessmen Michael Crismale join the Board.
Sydney FC today announced changes to the composition of its Board of Directors that will see former Federal Sports Minister Mark Arbib and businessmen Michael Crismale join the Board.
Mr Arbib and Mr Crismale join the Board following Sydney FC-s recent change in ownership structure and the resignation of Chairman Paul Ramsay and Directors Chris Rex and Elliott Rusanow.
Recently appointed Sydney FC Chairman Scott Barlow thanked the departing Directors.
“I-d like to thank Paul Ramsay, Chris Rex and Elliott Rusanow for the major contribution they have made to Sydney FC. I have enjoyed working with them and the dedication and expertise they brought to the club should be recognised and applauded,” Mr Barlow said.
“I am also pleased to announce that Mark Arbib and Michael Crismale will join the Sydney FC Board. “Both men bring invaluable experience that will complement the skills of the current Board Members and they both share a genuine and long held passion for football and Sydney FC.”
Mr Crismale, who has enjoyed a successful financial business career and is the Vice Chairman of the Australian Turf Club, was a Foundation Board Member of Sydney FC while Mr Arbib has been a passionate Sydney FC supporter since the club-s inception in 2005.
“I-m extremely excited about joining the Board at Sydney FC,” Mr Arbib said. “I-m passionate about football and believe Sydney FC has a big future in the A-League but also contributing to the local community. I am excited to be able to help them do both. I believe professional sports clubs can play a vital role in increasing the participation levels of kids and helping Sydney FC engage with the Community and build even stronger links at grassroots level will be a focus of mine.”
Mr Crismale said: “I-m honoured to be invited to join the board to help Sydney FC engage with all stakeholders of the game. I was a Foundation Board Member and have remained a keen supporter since the start of the A-League. I now look forward to combining my business and sports administration knowledge with my passion for the club to help take Sydney FC forward.”
