Sydney FC has signed an official new apparel partnership with sportswear giant PUMA, which will see the international sports brand design and produce the Sky Blues’ playing kit and supporter merchandise for the next four years.
The deal will start from July 1, 2015 and will see Sydney FC wear PUMA sportswear until the end of the Hyundai A-League 2018/19 season.
PUMA will design and develop new home and away playing kits for Sydney FC’s Hyundai A-League 2015/16 and 2016/17 campaigns, as well as specific Asian Champions League and FFA Cup strips.
Sydney FC Chairman Scott Barlow said: “This partnership with PUMA marks a new era for our club and it’s one we’re extremely excited about.
“Puma are one of the world’s leading sports brands with a long and successful history in football.
“We’ve worked closely with PUMA to design a range of merchandise of an international standard for our members and fans.
“The design brief we set was clean, classic, premium and authentic and we’re confident we’ve achieved that.
“This new range will be our best yet and we look forward to sharing it with our supporters at the upcoming launch.”
The Sky Blues and PUMA will launch the new kit following the Sydney FC players’ return for pre-season training, with General Manager PUMA Oceania, Paul Gautier delighted to be partnering Australian football’s most recognised club.
“Sydney FC is Australia’s leading global football brand and we are looking forward to producing a high quality merchandise range which matches their premium and ambitious status,” he said.
“This is a hugely important partnership for us and one which we hope will take Sydney FC to the next level in sportswear design,” he said.
The partnership will see Sydney FC’s Westfield W-League team, Foxtel National Youth League side and Sydney FC Academy teams also wear the PUMA playing apparel.
