Sydney FC and St.George Bank have today announced they will join forces to deliver a community program, which aims to promote a healthy lifestyle amongst children across junior clubs, schools and charity groups.

The two-year partnership will see Sky Blues- A-League and W-League players spend upward of 1,200 hours in local communities at junior clubs and schools to boost engagement and participation in football at the grassroots level. A series of coaching clinics will also be held during each school holiday period, providing an opportunity for boys and girls aged 5-15 to increase skills and remain active.

As part of the initiative, St.George will also support the Sydney FC Junior Blues Program, designed to increase engagement in the sport. The Junior Blues Program includes free membership for football players under the age of 12, providing free entry to all 14 Sydney FC home games at Allianz Stadium.

Andy Fell, General Manager St.George Retail Banking commented: “We are really excited to be part of a local community program that promotes healthy living and having fun. St.George is all about being local and this is why this program is such a great fit for us.

“Thousands of children across the region will be able to start something new by getting active, learning new skills and meeting some of their sporting idols,” he said.

Sydney FC CEO Tony Pignata said it-s fantastic to have St.George join as a Community Program partner for the next two years.

“St.George is a brand very focused on the local communities in which it operates and we-re honoured to have them join the Sydney FC corporate family to help us expand our engagement even further and invest in the future of the sport through the Junior Blues, who are the future members, fans and even stars of the A-League and W-League teams,” he said.
