Sydney FC Accept Paris Bid For Hunter

Sydney FC has accepted a bid from French first division side Paris FC for the Sky Blues and Liberty A-League Women’s Young Player of the Year 2023, Sarah Hunter.

The young midfielder is in France after a hugely successful two seasons with Sydney FC having won two Premierships and a Championship.

The 19-year old former Sky Blue Member moved to Sydney FC in 2021 and credits her European switch, and the chance to play UEFA Champions League Women’s football, to her Sydney FC experience.

“This is the opportunity of a lifetime for me and I’m so thankful for the help and support I’ve had at Sydney FC to be able achieve my dream of playing in Europe,” she said.

“I’ve had an unbelievable two years as part of this squad and my game has gone from strength to strength at this club.

“I’d like to thank all of the girls and coaching staff, particularly Ante [Juric] for the faith they have shown in me and helping to open this door for me.”

Sydney FC announce Sarah’s move to France.

Head Coach Ante Juric praised Hunter for her performances over the past two seasons and congratulated her on the move.

“Sarah fully deserves this opportunity to test herself against some of the best players in Europe,” he said.

“She has been phenomenal since she joined us last year and was one of the big reasons we’ve been so successful during that time.

“I’m delighted we’ve been able to help her progress and I’ve no doubt she will be a huge success overseas and eventually play many times for the Matildas.”

Hunter player 37 times for Sydney FC, including two Grand Finals and scored five goals for the club.
